Christmas is here~

So, I finally fell sick after hectic week.

*whips out PDA that was so graciously provided by my brother*

Ok. Erhem. If anyone cares. This has been my week:

21st Tze Jien's farewell party.

Really quite cool! It was a like a huge karaoke lounge buffet. The karaoke videos were projected onto the large screen and everyone sings etc. I like the whole concept and it was really nice to hang out and have fun with Min Li, Min Lee, Sze Yee, Yu Jin and of course Tze Jien just like old times. Wishing dear Tze Jien ALL THE BEST in the US and congratulations on being accepted too!

22nd Zhan's Buddhist Association Youth Section Anniversary Concert. ("the longest name for a concert ever" said the MC for that night)

The temple kids showcased their talents and taught us a lesson or two about Buddhism. A really well put together concert. Beautifully laid and seriously seriously talented people. And congrats to Zhan for gaining an Outstanding Achievement Award. Got to meet new people and learn some values. All in all a good night. (Yes, I did bravely go alone and I thought Zhan gonna perform somemore! :( But it was still an awesome concert)

23rd FINALLY, an Outing with the Teddies.

Had lunch at pizza hut for 3-4 hours. Yes. I said it we had LUNCH for about 4 hours! Time flies by too fast when one is having fun chatting away with old friends. Tsk!

Everyone had to leave by evening though. I enjoyed a durian party with my relatives at my house at night. S-weet~

24th Badminton with the teddies 'cause JO is back!

Man, now I know how much exercise I missed out in Melbourne. 'Cause my muscles still kinda ache from that day. Chaaam lor... Received Christmas present from Jo! I got a belt! And a Roxy belt at that. Jo handed it to me saying "I have no idea what to get for you" but twas EXACTLY what I have been looking for-- in fact even trendier! Talk about mind reading.

That night, I also attended a x'mas eve dinner with my parents. Yes, ladies and gents this gal here partied with 50-60 year olds on x'mas eve and it was ........... a WHOLE LOT OF FUN!

25th I fall sick

But guess what? I get to open Yong's present. Finally! Twas a cute glass cup with a HAND-PAINTED drawing of a xmas tree and presents. So colourful and cute!!!!! Oh and a lil scented candle inside. I have placed it on my dressing table and it smells heavenly atm. Yes, if you have known me well enough you would know that I have obsession with smell. Remember how I gave you the inspiration to write a poem about smells, Yong? HAHA!

26th Despite being sick, I went shopping in Summit

Dresses are the most comfortable things in the world. I pity the boys who can't wear them.

Upcoming event: 30th BARBECUE with the Teddies! Yeay!!!! Bring on the meat, babeh. *slurp*

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everybody!

Birthdays and Singapore

Birthdays in December that I have celebrated: Alyaa, Guoyi and Qi Hong~
19 year old Guoyi and Alyaa.
Sweet and simple. We watched "I Am Legend" (which was a totally totally awesome movie! I wanna watch it again. Just for the thrills. I'm sadistic, I know.) Then it was cake time at Karen's place. The cake was so graciously recommended and provided by Karen + her mum. Twas heavenly cake. mmMmmm...

Happy Birthday, Qi Hong!
I probably did it in a very slip shod way but all I told Hong was that I was going to pop by his house that evening. He didn't ask why. I didn't SAY why. So, Yong, Willy, Foo and I managed to give him a lil belated birthday surprise with a cake and present.

Hong blowing out the candles upon which his wish was granted.

Group pic: stranger, Yong, Hong, Willy and Foo

A trip to Singapore so that Karen and I can finally say that we actually have SEEN Singapore. Yes, that tiny country that just so happens to be right beside us.

'Cause we all so "daring" ar... We took the Glass-Bottom Cable Car. Well, twas only plastic actually. Anyways, from left to right: Karen, Qui Wan and Alex (who so graciously offered his house as accomodation and was our personal tour guide. Thanks Dood~!)

The 360 degree view you get from the cable car. HAHA! Ok not really. But I like the angle. Sinagpore has an extremely busy port. They ain't kidding when they say it's the busiest.

Underwater World at Sentosa. This is an exhibit of the growth process of a shark! You could even see the tiny little fetus wiggling inside. It was such an eye-opener. Applaud the fine attention they pay to detail. Beautiful.

Man-made beach at Sentosa. A bit odd seeing shipping boats just over the fake islands but a beach nonetheless :D And you know how I feel about beaches!

Ooo.. so cute. A lil bridge across to some mystery Island... Argh! Maties, A-treasure-hunting we go!
We popped by Vivo City (the biggest shopping mall in Spore) after Sentosa to have lunch. Then, Alex used his "Captain Jack Sparrow" skills (he uses a compass to sort of lead his way. Pretty awesome if you ask me) and found the way to the Science Centre. We few lil nerds, oogled at the displays set out and pranced around like little school kids. Very educational and fun though!
Next stop was NIGHT SAFARI. A definite must-go whenever you visit S'pore.
Our timing was brilliant as we walked in just in time for the cultural show which lasted for 30 minutes. Fire stunts and traditional dances were part of the agenda.

Right after the cultural show was the animal show presented by a very hilarious and lively host. Above is a photo of the trainers carrying a huge snake.
A volunteer trying really hard to remain calm as the host draped the humungous snake around his shoulders. They had to take the snake off fairly quickly 'cause, apparently, the snake was "hungry". Yes, kids. When a snake starts wrapping around your leg, it doesn't mean that it finds you attractive, it just thinks your supper.

The show was really impressive as they gave us interesting facts about each animal presented. These animals are wild and are not as smart as those you see in the zoo but somehow these talented trainers managed to train them fairly well.

The picture above is of the cute little things teaching us how to recycle. It's ok if you put it into the wrong bin, as long as you recycle. HAHAHA!

We then proceeded to a tram ride to see all the animals up close. It was fascinating to see all these nocturnal creatures going about their daily (nightly?) activities. I definitely want to go back and take the 1 hour 45 minute walk through the whole safari. Anyone wanna join me?
The Night Safari was really interesting as we got to see a huge Lion lying on its back with its paws in the air like a little puppy, a huge bat fly right in the middle of our pathway, another bat peeing, and so many more animals up close. Definitely an experience!

By the time we were done at the Night Safari, we realised that we haven't even eaten dinner. So we roamed around Orchard Road looking for food. The lights were pretty, though the pictures are in Karen's camera... Awww... There was a huge Christmas tree set up on display somewhere (whereever Alex brought us to). Looked like S'poreans were all pumped up for the festive celebrations.

So that would be the past 10 days in a nutshell, I would reckon.

Joshua is back~ And we Teddies (whoever that is back that is) played a good ol' game of badminton. As Jo said, twas quite nostalgic.

Mmm... yeah. I feel like I should start taking more photos and be reading more books but....

FUTURAMA CALLS TO ME!!!!!!!!

*gets dragged away by mysterious force*

Amused?

Just a short little post about a few things that have kinda amused or surprised me recently.

Number 1: Why ladies wear pretty/cute/sexy underwear-- because when they feel crummy, it makes them feel good by wearing their sexy little numbers under their clothes.

Err... I'm one female who was not aware of that. I'm sorry, ladies but my underwears are all one coloured, plain and in the same design. Aikz! *shields self from sexy ladies in nice underwears* (now isn't that every men's fantasy? -wink-)

Number 2: One of the top supermodels does not own a brush.

I'm not sure who. But if you're on holiday, good luck finding out who it is on E! Channel. HAHAHA!

Come to think of it. She doesn't really need to own a brush since she already has hired work to do her hair anyways.

Number 3: Apparently, I use both parts of my brains quite equally.

Take the test to find out whether you use your left or right side of your brain more. http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21598,22492511-5005375,00.html

I have seen the dancer go in both directions for equal amounts of time. It has just left me confused. What do you see?

Number 4: The break-up of Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling

Well apparently they split about two months ago but I feel devastated. Look at the passion and love there. Imagine how many people they gave hope to. Where's the hope now?

No, Ryan. How can you trade this beautiful, talented, semi-emo and loving actress in for Hayden?

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Hayden. It was just the chemistry, Rachel's class and poise was just perfect with Ryan. *tear* (yeah, I'm sorry. I had to pick a bad picture of Hayden. Though, must say props to the girl for being nominated for the Golden Globes.)

Wow! I just realised what a sexy post this turned out to be. Well enjoy wetting your pants! *cough* I mean, enjoy the rest of your day! :D

semi-emo

Semi-Emo and why I thought of it.
There I was browsing through some really funky stuff Jo showed me on a really cool website. Skull rings, funky necklaces etc. It was all so goth/emo/punk like I was turned on.
A look at the price?Ouch, ouch and double ouch.
I realised something.
Hey! It's kinda expensive to be goth/emo/punk.
So since I never really liked the goth and punk style. Let's talk about emo eh?
I don't really care what YOUR definition of emo is but to me emo is like the super subtle version of bring goth or punk.
So, emo= lots of black + lil hints of accesories that depict things abt death or your enlightened insight abt life + more accessories/coloured or cool or greasy hair/mascara + albums of whiney rock bands + GOING for those bands' concerts + Converse shoes ('cause we know we can't live without them)
Ooo sexy skull rings~ RM300

Meaningful tattoo? Price to pay= pain. But hey pain=pleasure (yes sense the silent supporter of punk/emo ness here?)

Ok ok. So, basically, I was thinking. It's so much work to put on mascara everyday, put on a scowl and make sure the excessive jewellery doesn't catch on to random materials. 'Sides, all that takes time and being genuine emo sucks so much energy. You need to feel sad and write poetry and think of all the money you need to spend on the CDs, make up and black clothes that only look good when they are of good quality. Oh and let's not forget about the Converse shoes shall we?

And thus, the idea of SEMI-EMOness was born.

Perhaps silent rebel would have better described it but I liked semi-emo 'cause despite one having less grudge against the world (and less money), one is still well... emo (emotional)

One star who I'm guessing would have gone through a semi-emo stage would be my favourite actor-- Johnny Depp

You see, apparently, before he began playing quirky roles in films, he was known as a teen idol. (yes unfortunately, I have been filling my time with lots of E! channel True Hollywood story) Anyways, he hated that. Resented the show (21 Jumpstreet) for putting him in this position of teenage heart throb. Talk about rebel. Talk about hating the media. I shall deem him semi-emo at this point of time. Yet he still worked hard and chased to earn money.

See? Semi-emos don't exactly hate the world or want to kill themselves.

Don't you love how Johnny Depp can go from hunkalicious to....

Quirky, drunk and....

... no other word to describe him but TALENTED~!

I'm sorry but I needed to plop Ken'Ichi Matsuyama in here 'cause he is the Japanese version of Johnny Depp to me. He has also challenged himself with various roles like...

semi-emo soldier...

... weird detective L from Deathnote

Sexy Indian... I mean Sexy Japanese Man

and even a totally cool rocker! Aikz! Can't see it from here but he has a piece of chain that links the piercing from his ear to the piercing on his lower lip. Can I say sexxxy? :P

I must say that this post has turned very bimbo but hey let's talk about the latest movie I have watched called "Nana". Never heard/watched it? Go do so. Y'all know it's at http://www.crunchyroll.com/

Ooo Ooo!! Don't you just love all the semi-emo couples? Turn on~

My favourite actress in the movie has gotta be semi-emo singer-- Mika Nakashima!

I would deem her semi-emo 'cause despite her cool tattoo (refer to lotus tattoo above), huge amounts of mascara, lack of eyebrows and poetic songs...

...she still manages to...

... look absolutely serene like this.

So, quit moping and whining 'cause we all know it's the rich kids that are mostly emo.

Catch on.

Semi-emo is the way to go.

Note: HAHAH! not really. But don't you just love the unique character of each individual up there? I kinda do.

Note: This reminds me of the time I stared at a guy on the tram 'cause I thought he looked like one of those really good boy psycho killers who had really great looks but would just love to kill their mother.

Am I restless?

Hell yeah!

I'm home and absolutely crazzzy about it

Ahhh~ Finally home.

No idea how many hours of sleep I actually got on the plane but I do believe it was 3 hours or less. I got on the plane and conked out. Woke up at 3am and watched 2 movies along with 2 episodes of random sitcoms.

If I had that remote control in the movie "click", I would have TOTALLY fast forwarded the plane part of my journey. Nothing is worse than wanting to be in a place but having no control over the amount of time you are going to take to get there.

It is odd leaving Melbourne and coming back to Malaysia. I have come to love both places. People, food, lifestyle and all.

While in Melbourne, I missed the random outings I could always have in Malaysia 'cause food everywhere was cheap and no stall or restaurant ever rushes you to get out. I missed how we could crash at a good friend's place and chat till wee hours and how funny it was when our parents start missing us and practically demand us to get home. I missed how I could DRIVE! I even missed the voice of my parents. I could always hear their voices when it comes to certain decisions. Literally. I missed my brother telling me the funny characters of people and how confident he always was. I missed my dog who acted like he loved me even if he might not remember who I am at all.

Then again, I didn't want to leave Melbourne as I sat and stoned on the floor waiting for the time to come for me to leave my room. I saw Christopher's face as he wished me a safe journey home. Without a real family in Melbourne, he has become my family away from home. I hate to think that I am breaking apart a family by moving out of college. Our floor was really like a family with Ria, Alex, Akshat and Ashley. Joanna too, although busy with Ding, would always make sure we went down for dinner together. And Ding also there as he shared our interests and hobbies.

It is weird to actually hold different relationships in two different places. Missing people that I have grown close to in Melbourne is like missing home. Yet it was never home before. It is like having two homes as I spend equal amounts of time in both places.

The feeling is like being torn. It's like my brain (or heart?) being separated into two parts where one part will lie in Melbourne and one part in Malaysia.

I do love being back where I can speak manglish and everyone understands me. Though, I guess when something clicks, it is just hard to detach. It is difficult to avoid this feeling of "missing". However, I feel so lucky I do have people to miss. It only means I have met Great people. People who I miss and (hopefully) miss me too.

Life is a whole lot more despite the oddness of always missing one side of the world.

Like a friend of mine said " To love is a great gift"

DAY 3

I just realised I had like 2 drafts of blog posts but never finished either of them 'cause I have been running around looking for apartments. Glad to say we actually got a confirmation BUT (unsure whether it was a bad move) we turned them down.
Another thing on my mind? Packing up and moving out. Boxes, boxes and more boxes. Also, jackets, jackets and more jackets (yes. remind me NOT to buy any more jackets please. They are a pain to pack up).
Besides that, no more meals are being provided at college so Christopher and I went grocery shopping yesterday and we'll see if we actually suceed in cooking a proper meal one of these days. I didn't even have lunch today 'cause I was so stressed up about the apartment. Yeah, I can feel my brain melting since I have been running on cereal all day.
So, just wanna say sorry to those who have been bugged that I didn't update for so long. I'm just pooped and can't wait to get back but I really wish I can get a place confirmed. Sigh~
